NOTES: Southeast of Breezewood near Mercersburg, the Whitetail ski area has 17 runs open to snowboarding with a maximum vertical of 900 feet spread over 100 acres. There are nine lifts serving this area.
To reach the trailhead from Washington, take I-270 N to I-70 W. Take the Clear Spring, MD Exit 18, then bear right. Go straight through the traffic light in Clear Spring. At the island, turn right onto Broadfording Road. Follow Broadfording Road 1/2 mile, turn left onto Blairs Valley Road. Continue 5 miles on Blairs Valley Road to Whitetail.
